Sacro Occipital Technique

Your First Treatment

On your first visit a complete evaluation is conducted relying upon many indicators specific to SOT, as well as other traditional tests and measures. You are then placed in one of three categories for treatment. Once your category is determined, a specific programme is instituted and your progress monitored until changes in your body’s indicators demonstrates the need for different treatment procedures. X-rays may be taken or laboratory tests recommended if necessary.

Benefits of SOT

One major advantage of SOT is that high velocity motions are often not necessary in the treatment process. SOT adjustments maybe gently administered, some utilizing the force of gravity and others with very light pressure. More traditional adjusting and therapeutic interventions may also be used, but SOT treatments are always very specific to your individual needs.

Treatment

In SOT the primary focus is upon structural stability and integrity as well as neurological function. The spine, shoulders, neck and head sit upon the pelvis and are subject to the stresses and strains of gravity. These structures, as well as the rest of the body, are functionally maintained and controlled by the brain through the nervous system. All structures of the body are essential to the integrity of the whole.

Results

SOT pays detailed attention to how different parts of your body connect, reciprocate and coordinate. Consideration of these interactions is central to both the diagnostic and treatment aspects of SOT. Resultingly a better understanding of the integrated function of our different body parts is achieved. It is a privilege to provide so complete a health care system. Only through many hundreds of hours of study and hands-on experience are we able to utilize this technique to its fullest and pass these benefits on to you and your family.

Background

The founder of SOT, Major Bertrand De Jarnette, D.C., wrote more original material about structure and function than any other author in Chiropractic. His research techniques covered all aspects of human anatomy, physiology and neurology. Specific pelvic, spinal and cranial adjustments as well as soft tissue (Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique (CMRT)) procedures have been taught to Chiropractors all over the world. It is through De Jarnette’s sincere devotion to his research and teaching that we are able to bring to you the benefits of SOT.

SORSI

Major B. De Jarnette licensed Sacro Occipital Research Society International, Inc. (SORSI) in 1957 to carry on his vision through teaching and research. SORSI and her sister organizations, PAAC (Japan), SOTO-Europe and SOTO-Australia are the only authorised agents of SOT and SOT Craniopathy.
